The Season Ahead

With almost fifty million spent on new recruits Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Stuart Downing in addition to Suarez and Carroll exciting times appear to be round the corner. With that in mind my hopes, fears and dreams are as follows:

Hopes - That we can compete with the big four while dispatching others, thus regaining a place in the top four

Dreams - To draw level with United would be glorious, but the FA Cup would suffice and being back among the elite will be the icing on the cake

Fears - Not being strong enough to be a consistent challenger to Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City

  1. I’d be happy with top four and I’d be disappointed with anything less.

    Top 3 would be amazing

I would also be absolutely delighted to finish ahead of Chelsea and I think it will be hard but not impossible. New manager, ageing squad, Some big egos, they might have problems.

I’m also expecting about 20 goals from Andy Carroll, Luis Suarez to continue to be brilliant, Pepe to win the golden gloves again and doing the double over Everton,

  2. Hopes - to finish in top four

Dreams - to finish in the top four and win the Cup

Fears - our expensive bland summer singings prove costly and we again start the campaign like a mediocre mid table team.

  3. Hope –for a great season where we really compete and play good football, win the FA Cup

Dreams – to win the league but perhaps the top three finish is more realistic

Fears – that some of the players that we need to leave the club (Maxi, Cole, Deggan, Insua, at least 2 central midfielders, for starters) will remain and that it will affect team spirit and that we don’t get the players we want in key positions, e.g. left back. Also share Leon’s fears.

  4. Hopes - be the champion

Dreams - do the double on Everton, Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal and go through the season unbeaten.

Fears - the resurrection of the last two seasons and players talking off the pitch instead of on it!!!

  5. First and foremost it has to be re-entering the top four – two seasons without Champions League football is just not good enough – it would be wonderful to pick up a domestic trophy along the way.

If we won the title this season – that would be the ultimate dream.

  6. Not getting top 4 would be a disaster, Suarez would be off like a shot.

  7. Hope: we can play excellent football again, consisting run of wins, "play your hear out style" and top three for me, as we have spent over 100 million on players, and I believe we have enough to go by "for now"

Dreams: Simple - Win the Premier league + back in the Europe Glory, double over Man United and Chelsea.

Fears: Our new players don't play up, flops.. and we end up a middle table team.
