Aquilani

With rumours abound that Juventus are pleading poverty and as such proposing that we take a potential lost of £12 million on the £17 million we payed for Aquilani and sell him for £5 million, even allowing them to pay on a credit basis,  should we take the hit and get him off our books or embrace his undoubted talent back in our squad which is crying out for creativity?

  1. Hell no! In these times of financial difficulties, we should hold out for more cash. We can't afford to operate as if money isn't important, it is. We will become the laughing stock in the City, something we really can't afford to be. We need to show financial credibility. It was a big decision to let him go on loan for a whole season we should have said as long as u buy him for x£ at the end of it. we should look to get at least £12m. perhaps £5m wd give them Joe Cole?

  2. We should not take the hit, if they cannot pay we should take him back until we can get a fair price for him

  3. He still is a Liverpool player and he is having a good spell on loan for Juventus. I still believe that Liverpool should not have let Aquilani go out on loan and we should have given him this season to prove himself, as he seems to have recovered from his injury. Bring him back or they can have have him for around about £12m

  4. If Juventus don't want him at the £12m which we agreed at the start of the loan period then we should take him back. They are obviously trying to knock us down and when you see comments such as those reportedly said by their General Manager Bepe Marotta, "Aquilani must remain calm, we believe in him and he has shown he deserves to be at Juventus", they are obviously playing a game of brickmanship, hoping ramp up the pressure and reduce our asking price. Our owners state that we are in a financially strong position, so there is no need to take a hit - we have to show that we've learnt from the Robbie Keane sale to Tottenham where we lost £7 million within one year of re-selling him because any add-ons were based on silverware with him in the team.

  5. Put up or shut up Juve !!! You want the best of the deal but not want to pay anything !! Just return our player and we can close this subject !!

The return of Aquilani greatly improves the quality and class of our midfield.

    £12m or nothing !!
