1) Eden Hazard – would be 1st choice as a winger – ready for the big league but can we persuade him to leave his team that has just won the French league and can guarantee him Champions League next season. Nzogbia as the alternative winger because he can beat players with pace and a trick or two.
2) Ashley Young – the player that we should have signed 3 years ago is now available and should do whatever it takes to get. Downing as the alternative.
3) Jose Enrique – steady left back – who is both good defensively and going forward
4) Bojan – I have my reservations about Andy Carroll – long-term both injury-wise and his pace being unable to keep up with the quick countering football I expect us to produce next season – so the nimble footed Bojan would be an ideal player to bring in as a foil to Suarez and he would now be ready to leave Barcelona because of the frustration of not getting first team football.
5) Christopher Samba – would be an additional option if we raised money through the potential sales of Kyrigakos and Degen – everyone talks about Gary Cahill but Samba is every bit as good defensively but can offer more goals going forward - the aerial ability of the giant Samba “who as Shankly once said about Ron Yeats is a colossus at the back” with Carroll at set-pieces would frighten a lot of teams.
6) Charlie Adam – will be coming to Anfield in the summer but I am not sure if he is the long term solution – watched him live and his work-rate is not high enough for an LFC player and he tires towards the end of games.
With 5 of these 6 players embedded into the squad with the players we already have I feel that we have a great chance of getting top 4 next season.
I hope that Pacheco, Sterling & Coady start to make an impact in the new season even if they are sent on loan to Norwich, Bolton or QPR because they really are our real future more so than the glamour signings.
Some really interesting names of players there guys....I have a list of ten potential targets.
Lois Enrique - Newcastle Yann M'Vila - Rennes Fabio Coentrao - Benfica Stewart Downing - Aston Villa Gary Cahill - Bolton Leighton Baines - Everton Charlie Adam - Blackpool Ade Tarrabt - QPR Ezequel Lavezzi - Napoli Eden Hazard - Lille
Please correct me if I am wrong, I am already disillusioned about Andy. Scored two goals, yes what next? I watched part of the game with Aston Villa, I do not think we deserved to lose that game.
To be fair to Andy, he hasn't had the right service from wide areas and most of the time at the club he's been injured....if he can have a relaxing time off away from the game and super charge himself up ready fitter than ever to start the season with the right players to provide the balls into the box then hopefully he will show part of the £35 million paid for him!
I am expecting 20 league goals minimum for a player we have paid £35m for. The service for him will be good so there will be no excuse unless he is injured.
David agree with you, his come to us with a few injuries, but at £35M, no excuse, about not getting service etc, you don't wait for the ball to come to your feet, or rely on crosses as his tall, a striker should create goals out of nothing.
I think we are still better off = £35m 2 goals, out Torres £50m in 1 goal and the diff £15m. Unfortunately, I do not agree with our panic buy of Andy. I am sure Ngog would have scored more than two goals, should he have more run of games in that period.
well, this is one of the points, when likes of ManU, Arsenal, Chelsea, Mac City and us all trying to go for the same player, what can we offer..... a rebuilding team or a realistic challenging team for all major silverware....
Yeah but they’ve been spending big for a couple of seasons now and I’d still rather have a lot of our players over theirs. The thing is that they can’t buy everyone, and spending a lot of cash on a player is no guarantee that they will settle. Call me naïve but I’m not too worried about City to be honest, losing Tevez will cause them plenty of problems.
Man City being linked to every half decent player puts the price up for everyone. I think we may have learnt our mistake paying over the odds for full backs.

From what I understand Coentrao is on his way to Real Madrid.
ReplyDeleteRealistically, my choices would be as follows:
Ashley Young (would like Downing as well, but cannot see any club worth their salt selling two players to the same team)
1st choice Diego / Adam
Diego Forlan (strategic move to play alongside or with his countryman for a couple of seasons)
Scott Dann (stood out from the rest of the Birmingham defence in their fall from grace).
Hazard (would love to get him as he's an excellent player and stated he was not going to a big team to sit on the bench)
or
Should we use the bankroll and go all out and buy Kun Aguero?

Heard yeaterday Martin Skrtel felt he had his best season for us!
ReplyDeleteHe needs to raise his game another 25% because for me his game has gone backwards from when he first arrived!
A top level central defender is needed as back up to him, Agger, Carra and Martin Kelly because Kyrigakos's time is now up!

Btw, 26 mill for Coentrao... that’s bloody expensive for a full back. I can’t see us spraying that sort of cash around.
ReplyDeleteBaz
Quality player – pricing is just too high – hope that’s not a sign of the way things will be going this summer !!!!
ReplyDeleteMan City’s extravagant spending is going to make all the quality players very expensive to pick up !!!!
